Aggro Crab's soulslike-but-you're-a-hermit-crab somehow produced one of 2024's most charming and surprisingly hard-hitting soundtracks. The music has to do double duty: sell the absurd comedy of a crab wearing trash as armor while also delivering genuine boss fight intensity.

"Nephro, Captain of the Guard" goes full orchestral menace for what is essentially a lobster in a knight helmet, and it absolutely works. "Magista, Tyrant of Slacktide" ramps the stakes even higher with sweeping strings and pounding drums that make you forget you're fighting crustaceans.
The track names alone tell you how committed this game is to its ocean puns. "Je Ne Sais Claw," "Au Clawntraire," "Shellfish Desires," and "The Upper Crust" are all doing wordplay heavy lifting, but the music behind them ranges from whimsical exploration themes to genuinely dark environmental pieces.
"Worthless..." captures the emotional core of Kril's journey, a little crab told his shell means nothing in a world drowning in pollution. "The Moon Snail's Lullaby" is hauntingly beautiful, the kind of track that stops you mid-gameplay.
"Pagurus, The Ravenous" and "The Loan Shark" bring serious soulslike boss energy, full dramatic scoring that wouldn't feel out of place in a FromSoftware title. "Bottomfeeders (Nemma's Theme)" grounds things with character warmth.
The whole soundtrack walks a tightrope between parody and sincerity and never falls off.
