2013 · Playstation 3, Xbox 360

The third Army of Two takes the action to Mexico and the soundtrack follows, trading the original's globe-trotting military bombast for something grittier and more localized. Seventeen tracks that move through cartel territory with a mix of tension building and full-on combat percussion.

"Into The Barrio" and "Outskirts" establish the setting with dusty, sun-baked tension before things go loud. "Raiding The Palace" delivers the set-piece energy the series is built on, while "Ghost Town" does eerie emptiness better than you'd expect from this franchise.

"Nightfall" and "Covert Strike" work the stealth angle with restrained, prowling compositions. "Isolation" is the emotional outlier, carrying a genuine sense of vulnerability. "Outnumbered" and "Into Combat" ramp back up for the final push, and "End Game" goes all-in on the climactic payoff.

It's a more focused, less cartoonish score than its predecessors, reflecting a game that was trying to take itself more seriously even if the core loop was still about two guys demolishing everything in sight.
