"Kneel Before The Writhing Altar Theme" sets expectations immediately -- this is not a comfortable listen. "Where No Light Dares Shine Theme" and "Necrocosmic Alchemical Apparatus Theme" push into deep, dark ambient territory where the silence between notes feels intentional and threatening.
"Crawler Theme" and "Urchin Theme" give the game's creatures their own sonic identities, skittering and pulsing respectively. "Digital Nomad Theme" and "Pressure Cooker Theme" inject nervous energy into the mix. "Verdant Sunset Theme" arrives at the end like sunlight after hours underground, offering a rare moment of beauty.
"Dream Dweller Theme" floats in a liminal space between peace and paranoia. For a thirteen-track indie OST, Arrival covers a remarkable amount of emotional and atmospheric ground, and "In Search Of An Answer Theme" might be the most aptly named track here -- searching, uncertain, never quite resolving.
