"Shallow Breath" opens with the kind of restraint that makes your chest tight, "Tightening" does exactly what the title promises, and "Blood Beat" pulses with a rhythm that feels like a heartbeat under stress. The character themes are where the real storytelling lives.
"Walker Family Theme" and "Holt Family Theme" represent the two households at the center of the drama, and hearing them side by side reveals how differently each family's weight sounds. "Vince Theme" carries the burden of a man trying to hold things together, "Zoe Theme" has this quiet resilience, and "Jay Theme" sits in that complicated space between sympathy and dread.
"Sharon Theme" might be the most emotionally loaded of the set. The inclusion of "God's Gonna Cut You Down" -- the traditional folk song famously covered by Johnny Cash -- anchors the whole score in that dusty, moral-reckoning Americana.
Between that and "As Dusk Falls Theme" bringing everything together, this is a soundtrack that understands silence is just as important as sound.
