The shift from Norse to Egyptian mythology gave the composers a rich new palette to work with, and they clearly relished it. The tracklist has a wonderful sense of pacing and humor baked into its naming. "That's One Big Cat" captures the moment you realize your boss fight is against something truly massive, and "Skittering Scorpions" followed by "That'll Sting" tells its own little story of escalating desert dangers.
Combat tracks like "Fighting the Living Dead" and "A Trap Is Sprung!" deliver the intensity that VR action demands -- when you're physically swinging a sword, the music needs to match your exertion, and these tracks absolutely do.
The more atmospheric pieces are where the VR medium really benefits from strong audio design. "Somber Hollows" and "Red Chasm" create spatial soundscapes that enhance the feeling of actually standing in these mythological locations.
"Abraxas's Trek to the Dead Expanse" and "Near the Pillars of Neith" build an almost archaeological sense of discovery. Meta Quest exclusive or not, this is one of the most ambitious VR soundtracks out there, proving that the platform can support full-scale orchestral scoring.
