The orchestration shifts to match, weaving in Middle Eastern scales and percussion alongside the series' established cinematic grandeur. "Sobek the Corrupt" opens with menace and weight befitting a crocodile god gone wrong.
"Morning in the Papyrus Swamp" and "Afternoon in the Papyrus Swamp" track the passage of time with shifting textures, morning hazy and gentle, afternoon heavier and more alert. The playful track naming continues from the first game.
"Down in the Spillway..." flows into "... but Not Out," and "Hippos Hit Hard" is exactly the kind of title that makes you smile while something enormous is trying to kill you in VR. "Scaling the Astrolabe" and "Getting the Attention of Thoth" carry this sense of ascending toward something cosmic, puzzle-solving music with stakes.
"Cyrene Takes a Stand" brings dramatic tension for a character moment that clearly matters. The environmental variety across twenty-five tracks keeps the Egyptian setting from ever feeling one-note. A soundtrack that proves the sequel earned its expanded mythological ambitions.
