The Complete Edition lives up to its name by pulling together every piece of Brian Tyler's orchestral score that the standard release left on the cutting room floor. You get the core twenty tracks that appear on other versions, but then it keeps going with pieces like "The British Empire" and "Batten Down the Hatches" that add real depth to the naval combat and exploration sequences.

"Modernity" handles the present-day Abstergo Entertainment sections with a sleek corporate edge that contrasts brilliantly against all the pirate bombast. "Queen Anne's Revenge" is a highlight that really needed to be on the standard release, giving Blackbeard's legendary ship the menacing musical treatment it deserved.
"Confrontation" ratchets up the tension for the game's climactic moments with layered brass and percussion that Tyler clearly had a blast writing. "A Merry Life and a Short One" perfectly captures the doomed romanticism of the Golden Age of Piracy.
If you already own the standard soundtrack or the Original Game Soundtrack, this is the one that fills in every gap. The additional tracks are not filler; they are pieces that flesh out entire sections of the game that felt underscore on other releases.
Tyler's work here rivals his best film scores.
