The definitive version of the Astebreed soundtrack, expanded for the PS4 release with tracks that weren't on the original Windows edition. The real treasure though is the chiptune arrangements tucked at the end. Hearing "Headwinds" stripped down to 8-bit pulses completely recontextualizes the melody, and "Est (Chiptune)" turns that mournful mid-game piece into something that sounds like it crawled out of a Famicom cartridge in the best possible way.
"Armageddon (Chiptune)" somehow keeps all its intensity even with nothing but square waves and arpeggios to work with. If you already own the original Windows soundtrack, this is the upgrade. The additional tracks fill narrative gaps, and the chiptune versions are more than novelty, they're genuine reinterpretations that make you hear familiar melodies differently.
Edelweiss clearly loved this project enough to revisit it with fresh ears two years later, and it shows.
