Punchy PCM drums and bright FM synth melodies ripping through the TurboGrafx-16 sound chip. Aurora Quest is a 1993 RPG and this soundtrack goes way harder than it needs to. "BREAKERS AHEAD!" has this urgent intensity that makes random encounters feel like boss fights.

"KISS THE DUST" carries a moody, almost cinematic tone that the hardware has no business producing. And "ETERNAL DREAMER" is the kind of wistful overworld theme that sticks in your skull for days. There are nearly 30 tracks here and the variety is wild.
Battle themes, dungeon crawls, town music, all squeezed out of that HuC6280 chip. "BURN THE CANDLE AT BOTH ENDS" goes off with a title like that and a melody to match. For TurboGrafx fans who already know this library goes criminally overlooked.
