BELTLOGGER 9 ORIGINAL GAME SOUNDTRACK

1996 · Playstation

Punchy PS1 synth with that unmistakable mid-90s crunch. BELTLOGGER 9 is a mech strategy game that most people outside Japan never touched, but its soundtrack goes way harder than it needed to. "Battle Field" has this aggressive drum-driven energy that sounds like it belongs in a Gundam cockpit, and "Go'in For The Galaxy" is pure triumphant space opera synth.

Then "Exodus From Darkness" pulls everything into something more somber and heavy. The whole thing has that early PlayStation CD audio quality where the composers finally had room to breathe after cartridge limitations. Real instruments mixed with digital production, still slightly compressed but full of character.

Worth hearing if you want 90s mech game energy without needing to track down the disc.
