Contra III: The Alien Wars Original Video Game Soundtrack

2017 · SNES

Aggressive SNES guitar samples and pounding drums that defined 16-bit action. Contra III: The Alien Wars is the game that made you grip the controller until your hands cramped, and the soundtrack matched every second. "It's Time For Revenge" opens with that legendary riff that says the aliens are back and you're angry about it, "Daredevil" keeps the pace relentless on the motorcycle stage, and "No Hope No Life" is the game over screen rubbing salt in the wound.

The Mode 7 top-down stages get their own vibe. "Select The Landing Point" gives you one calm breath before "Megalopolis" throws you into chaos. "Return In Glory" after the final boss. Earned every note of it. If you grew up with SNES action and need to feel 1992 again, press start.
