Heavy, thundering orchestral metal energy like the apocalypse got its own concert hall. Darksiders 2 follows Death himself and the soundtrack commits fully to that premise. The Maker's Guardian opens with enormous percussion and brooding low brass that sets the scale immediately.

The Forge Lands has this exploratory grandeur, wide open and foreboding at the same time. The Abyssal Plains goes full dark fantasy war march. Death the Executioner is as menacing as the name suggests, all sharp staccato hits and building tension.
Jesper Kyd brought a lot of texture to this, mixing choral elements with thick atmospheric layers. Lostlight and The Swarm keep the back half feeling dangerous right up through the end. Great soundtrack for anyone who thinks the Horsemen of the Apocalypse deserved better press.
