"Gardenias on Venus" is the standout original composition, blending spacey synths with a floral delicacy that the title promises. Its Stage 4 battle remix strips away the gentleness and pushes the tempo into proper shoot-em-up territory.
"Break The Ice" gets two stage versions plus a battle remix, and the progression from Stage 2 to Stage 3 shows how the same track can be recontextualized to match escalating difficulty. The title track "Nekomimi" carries a lot of weight here, appearing as a stage theme and pulling double duty as the boss music.
"Fugue" returns from the Fantasy expansion as a connective thread across the DLC releases. At thirteen tracks it's a tight package, but "Gardenias on Venus" alone is worth the listen -- it's the kind of track that transcends its source material completely.
