Released years after the content itself, this album finally gives official recognition to some of the most beloved musical moments from the Black Armory, Joker's Wild, and Opulence seasons. "Zero Hour" is the crown jewel here -- the music that accompanied one of Destiny 2's greatest secret missions, a frantic timed run through the old Tower to claim the Outbreak Perfected exotic.
The track's relentless intensity perfectly matched the pressure of platforming through that collapsing structure. "Scourge of the Past" delivers raid-worthy grandeur for the Black Armory's shorter but mechanically inventive raid, and "Siriks, Loyal to Eramis" foreshadows the Fallen antagonist who would later headline Beyond Light.
"The Menagerie" and "Beloved by Calus" capture the opulent decadence of Emperor Calus's Leviathan during the Season of Opulence, blending regal brass with underlying menace. "Crown of Sorrow" and "Ghalran's Deception" score the final raid of the annual pass with Hive-infused dread, while "Bad Juju" -- named for the returning exotic pulse rifle -- closes the album with a sense of dark nostalgia.
"Kell's Fury" and "Spider Swarm" round out the Tangled Shore's sonic identity with Fallen-flavored aggression.
