Deus Ex: Breach - Original Soundtrack

2017 · Windows

Deus Ex: Breach was the arcade-style hacking mode bundled with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, stripping away the narrative RPG elements in favor of pure infiltration gameplay set inside abstract digital environments. The soundtrack leans hard into pulsing electronic textures, with tracks like "Neural Subnet" and "Breaching The Veil" capturing the feeling of diving into corporate data vaults as a rogue hacker.

It's lean and focused, much like the mode itself. The track names read like a who's-who of Deus Ex corporate conspiracy lore. "Picus" references the media conglomerate, "Versalife" the shadowy biotech firm, "Santeau" and "Tarvos" the private military contractors, and "Palisades" the bank that stores everyone's dirty secrets.

Each track is essentially the sonic identity of infiltrating these organizations' servers, giving familiar franchise locations a fresh, abstracted musical treatment. At just twelve tracks, this is a compact soundtrack that does exactly what it needs to do.

"Rippers" and "Extraction" deliver the kind of urgent, synth-driven tension that keeps you moving through challenge rooms, while "Steiner" and "Pool" offer slightly more atmospheric moments. It won't replace the main Mankind Divided score for most listeners, but as a standalone electronic album built around digital espionage, it holds its own nicely.
