The game tackles the "mechanical apartheid" — segregation of augmented humans after the Aug Incident — and the music carries that weight of societal tension and personal conflict throughout. This extended edition includes the full game score plus all the trailer music that built so much hype.
"The Utulek Complex - Golem City" is one of the album's most powerful pieces, scoring the ghetto where augmented people are confined with oppressive, industrial textures that make you feel the claustrophobia. "Prague" captures the beauty and unease of the game's central hub, while "Palisade Bank" brings slick tension to one of the game's most memorable infiltration locations.
"G.A.R.M." and "The Machine God" deliver intense scoring for the game's major action setpieces, and "DR. Koller" has a wonderfully eccentric character to match the back-alley augmentation specialist. The trailer tracks are genuinely worth having — "Embrace What You Have Become" became iconic from the reveal trailer, and the "E3 2015 Trailer" music captures that moment when fans realized the series was back.
"Battle for the Future" and "Breaching the Veil" bring the narrative to its climax, while "Martial Law" scores Prague's descent into chaos with urgent, driving electronics. "Safehouse" and "Main Menu Theme" provide quieter moments of reflection amid all the conspiracy and conflict.
It's a worthy successor to Human Revolution's groundbreaking score.
