Devil Survivor Overclocked takes the already excellent DS original and brings it to the 3DS with a soundtrack that hits like peak Atlus. Composed by Takami Asano with the signature Megami Tensei sensibility, "Soul Survive" opens with pulsing electronic energy that sets the tone for a Tokyo lockdown gone to hell.

"Battle Beat" is the bread-and-butter combat track you'll hear hundreds of times and somehow never get sick of, driven by that crunchy guitar-synth hybrid that Atlus perfected. "Rival Battle" escalates with real menace, and "Garuda" delivers the kind of intense boss energy that makes you grip the 3DS a little tighter.
The atmosphere tracks are where the storytelling lives. "Disquiet" and "Deep Night" build unease without ever tipping into full horror, perfect for a game about demons invading modern-day Tokyo through smartphone apps. "Coldheartedness" lives up to its name with a clinical, unsettling tone, and "Confusion" captures the panic of a city falling apart.
The jingles scattered throughout -- "Normal," "Anxiety," "Accomplishment," "Courage" -- are tiny emotional punctuation marks that keep the pacing tight between major story beats. "Last Decision" is the standout, a track that carries the weight of every branching choice the game throws at you.
"Demoniac Fusion" sounds exactly like fusing demons should -- ritualistic and slightly unhinged. And "Eternal Life" closes the album with an almost serene finality that contrasts beautifully with all the chaos that preceded it.
This is Atlus doing what Atlus does best: making the apocalypse sound impossibly cool.
