"Ancient Lake" is the one everyone remembers, that gorgeous opening melody floating over gentle percussion as you ease into your first race. "Everfrost Peak" nails cozy winter energy with its twinkling arrangement, while "Hot Top Volcano" brings the heat with urgent, driving rhythms.
"Greenwood Village" has an almost medieval charm, and "Haunted Woods" takes a genuinely eerie turn. The boss themes and hub world music give the whole adventure a sense of progression that pure racing games rarely achieve.
"Taj's Theme" and "TT's Theme" give the side characters more personality than most main cast members get. The sheer variety here is staggering for a kart racer, with every world feeling sonically distinct. Wise was operating at peak form, and this 1998 soundtrack is proof that Rare's golden era extended well beyond Donkey Kong Country.
