"hunting" is one of the most recognizable battle themes in the entire Megami Tensei franchise, all crunching guitar and aggressive vocals that turn random encounters into events. The instrumental arrange of "pray" strips the vocal version down to its melodic skeleton, and it's gorgeous.
"Steel Coffin" brings the oppressive atmosphere of the Ocean Liner dungeon, claustrophobic and metallic in exactly the way the name suggests. "sahasrara" captures the eerie commercial district with this blend of ambient electronics and tension that makes shopping for supplies feel vaguely threatening, which is peak SMT energy.
Even the Config screen arrange of "pray" shows the level of care Atlus put into this package. Most games give you silence or a loop on the settings menu. Digital Devil Saga gives you a rearrangement of the main theme. For fans of the Junkyard and its cannibal philosophy, this premium disc is a concentrated dose of everything that made DDS's sound design so distinctive.
