Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories Official Soundtrack

2020 · Playstation 4, Switch, Windows

A disaster game soundtrack that spends most of its time being quietly human instead of bombastic. Disaster Report 4 finally came out in 2020 after years in development limbo, and the music reflects its core theme: ordinary people surviving extraordinary circumstances.

"The Promised Day" sets the stage with hopeful warmth before everything falls apart, "Looming Crisis" brings the tension when the ground starts shaking, and "Dispirited" captures that hollow feeling of walking through ruins that used to be your neighborhood.

What makes this collection stand out is how much of it lives in the everyday. "The Usual Convenience Store" and "Nice Apparel Shop" are basically mundane location themes, but placed against the disaster context they become bittersweet reminders of normalcy.

"Me-time" and "A Fulfilling Time" feel deliberately peaceful, like the game is letting you breathe between aftershocks. Even the menu themes like "Play Menu-Peace Of Mind" and "Store Menu-Preparation" carry genuine warmth.

"Always Be Yourself" and "I'm Back" are the emotional anchors, the kind of tracks that hit different after you've spent hours navigating collapsed buildings and helping strangers. "Instead Of Tears" and "Evening Shower" land with quiet devastation.

The whole album is less about spectacle and more about what it feels like to keep going when everything around you has stopped. It's an unexpectedly moving listen even outside the game.
