"Sinful Rose" opens with dramatic orchestral flair befitting the Overlord's daughter, "Cyber Dance" pivots hard into electronic territory, and then "Prinny My Love" hits you with an absurdly catchy theme for exploding penguin demons.
That's the Disgaea experience in three tracks. "Etna Rock" is exactly what the title promises, a guitar-driven banger for the series' beloved demon girl, while "MAKAI BAND" and "MAKAI Station" lean into funky, almost retro-pop energy.
"White Tiger" and "Ninja's Dance" bring the intensity for battle stages, and "Lord Laharl's...Hymn" is the kind of pompous, self-important character theme that only works because the character is equally pompous and self-important.
The real highlights are the emotional cuts. "Rozalin" is genuinely tender, "Brother & Sister" carries real weight for Adell and Hanako's bond, and "What You've Taught Me" lands as the kind of sincere closer that makes you forget you just spent 200 hours grinding in the Item World.
Capped off with "Twinkle Star" and "Disgaea Rhapsody" bringing pure celebratory energy. A perfect sampler for one of the PS2's most charismatic strategy RPGs.
