"Devil Rock Hero" and "Black Screamer" hit like the battle themes they are, all crunchy guitars and relentless energy. The softer side is just as strong. "Heaven's Blossom" is genuinely beautiful, "Sad to Say" carries real emotional weight, and "Angel Smile" has this warmth that cuts right through the series' comedic exterior.
Meanwhile "Greedy Ring" and "Popping Over" keep the playful Disgaea spirit alive with bouncy, infectious melodies. "Red Moon Dance" and "Dramatic Devil Story" bring the cinematic gravity for the bigger story moments, while "Hystelic Kingdom" closes things out with appropriately chaotic grandeur.
This is Sato operating in his comfort zone and absolutely thriving -- genre-hopping track to track without ever losing the thread that ties it all together.
