The "Main Titles" set a grand, cinematic tone befitting a game that treats forgotten Disney characters and attractions as its entire world. "Yen Sid's Lab" brings the mystical gravitas you'd expect from the sorcerer's domain, all swelling strings and magical shimmer.
The Wasteland locations are scored with incredible attention to their Disney Parks and cartoon inspirations. "Rainbow Caverns" reimagines the classic Mine Train ride's atmosphere, "Night On Bald Mountain" channels the Fantasia segment with brooding orchestral power, and "Skeleton Dance" references the 1929 Silly Symphony with playful macabre energy.
"Splash Mountain Jugband" is a loose, banjo-driven romp, and "The Old Mill" has that windswept, pastoral quality of the Oscar-winning short it's named after. Each location feels like walking through Disney history. "Swamped in Bog Easy" has a New Orleans jazz-meets-spooky-swamp vibe, "Blotworx Dragon" brings the boss fight intensity with massive orchestral hits, and "I'm Falling Apart" is another vocal number that hits with genuine pathos.
The diorama tracks at the end tease the Mad Doctor's scheming with miniature-scale charm. Even the hub world tracks -- "Mean Street South" and "Mean Street North" -- have a wistful quality, like a Main Street USA that's seen better days.
Warren Spector's vision of a broken Disney wonderland never sounded better than this.
