This release pairs two of CAVE's most important late-90s shooters on a single disc: the original DoDonPachi and the psychic-powered ESP Ra.De. The DoDonPachi half is built on clever economy -- "Stages 1 & 4 BGM," "Stages 2 & 5 BGM," and "Stages 3 & 6 BGM" reveal how the game reuses its stage music across both loops, letting the escalating difficulty recontextualize familiar melodies.

"Final Brutal Weapon" is the aptly named boss theme that still gets the blood pumping, and the Saturn Version Original Stage BGM is a nice bonus for console completionists. ESP Ra.De.'s soundtrack is an entirely different animal.
Tracks like "DESPERATE SCHOOL," "NIGHTMARE," and "ACT IN JUDGE" reflect the game's unusual modern-day urban setting -- this is not a spaceship shooter, it is psychic teens fighting through cities and harbors. "WANGAN RAPID LINE" in its two parts captures the coastal highway sequence brilliantly, while "YAKSA" and "FAIRIES FEAR" bring escalating menace to the late-game stages.
"RAGING DECIDE" is one of the most aggressive boss themes CAVE ever produced. Having both soundtracks together makes for a fascinating snapshot of CAVE at a pivotal moment. DoDonPachi codified the formula that would define the company for the next fifteen years, while ESP Ra.
De. showed they could apply that same intensity to a completely different aesthetic. The voice and sound effect collections on both halves are a bonus that arcade purists will appreciate -- there is nothing quite like hearing those hit markers and bomb effects outside of gameplay.
