"Jungle Melody" nails that warm tropical vibe the series is built on, while "Manic Mine Cart" brings frantic energy with its rolling percussion. "Aztec Melody" has this mysterious grandeur that makes the Angry Aztec world feel ancient and alive.
The boss battles escalate nicely from "Boss Battle 2" through "Boss Battle 5," each one ratcheting up the tension. And "Shipwreck Melody" is genuinely moody, a far cry from the goofy charm of "Kranky's Theme" or the smooth groove of "Candy's Theme."
The character themes are where Kirkhope's personality really shines. "Funky's Theme" is effortlessly cool, "Kranky's Theme" is grumpy perfection, and "Krool's Theme" closes things out with the menacing weight a final villain deserves.
"Slippery Slide" and "Cave Melody" round out the environmental pieces with that signature N64-era Rare warmth that nobody else could quite replicate.
