"I will Punish Those who Bully the Weak" is the most heroic Marian has ever sounded. The subtitle game is incredible — "Bloody Meat Bomb" for Burnov, "100 Points for That Guy!!" for character select, "How to OK!" for the tutorial.
These feel like enthusiastic but slightly off English translations that give the whole soundtrack a charming energy. "Fighting ABOBO" treats the iconic henchman like the main event he always deserved to be. "Chi Nen Nin" for Amon, "Suihassenken" for Cheng-Fu, and "Kochinda" for Rebecca bring martial arts atmosphere with character-specific fighting style references.
The Neo Geo's sound hardware gives these themes a punchy, arcade-quality presentation that the original beat-em-up music never had. Double Dragon as a fighting game was a weird choice, but the soundtrack commits fully.
