Dragon Age II Signature Edition Soundtrack

2011 · MacOS, Windows

Inon Zur brought a completely different energy to Dragon Age II compared to Origins, and you can hear it from the very first notes of the main theme. Where Origins leaned into sweeping high fantasy, this score gets personal and gritty, matching Hawke's decade-long struggle through Kirkwall's political nightmare.

"Hawke Family Theme" carries this aching warmth that threads through the entire game, and "Fenris Theme" is all brooding intensity with those dark string lines that suit the character perfectly. The combat tracks absolutely rip.

"Arishok" builds to this massive confrontation that mirrors the weight of that iconic duel, while "Bone Pit Battle" and "Cavern Combat" keep the underground sequences feeling claustrophobic and dangerous. "Qunari On The Rise" has this slow-burning tension that perfectly captures Act 2's political unraveling.

And then "Tavern Music" just lets you breathe for a minute, like you're actually unwinding at the Hanged Man with Varric. The Signature Edition version of this soundtrack is the fuller package, and tracks like "Kirkwall Nights" and "Rogue Heart" show off the quieter side of the score that a lot of people miss when they only remember the combat music.

"Mage Pride" closes things out with the kind of defiant energy that makes the mage-templar conflict feel genuinely lived-in. Not just background music, but a real argument set to orchestra.
