Dragon Age: Inquisition -Songs Of The Exalted Council-

2016 · Playstation 4, Windows, Xbox One

"Fall of the Magister" opens with this grand, tragic sweep that sets up the political reckoning to come, and "Scout Lace Harding" is genuinely one of the most charming character themes in the entire Dragon Age franchise, bright and adventurous with just enough warmth to match her personality.

"Inquisitor" hits differently once you've played through Trespasser and know what the title really means by the end. It carries weight without being heavy-handed. "The Followers" captures that bittersweet feeling of a team that's been through everything together and might be approaching the end of the road.

"The Slightest Ones" closes this mini-collection with something intimate and reflective, the kind of piece that makes you sit with the credits for a minute. For a five-track release, it punches way above its runtime and gives the Inquisition era a sendoff that the main soundtrack couldn't quite deliver on its own.
