"Dune Theme" at original speed hits different when you can actually hear every layer, and "Chani's Eyes" reveals textures that were buried in early 90s compression. The real treasure here is the inclusion of the PC-specific tracks alongside the main score.
"PC_ARRAKIS," "PC_BAGDAD," "PC_MORNING," and the rest were the DOS versions that many players heard first, and hearing them remastered is a nostalgia trip with upgraded resolution. "PC_SIETCH" captures the hidden Fremen world, "PC_WARSONG" brings the battle energy, and each one sounds cleaner than it has any right to after three decades.
Everything you loved about the original is intact. "Sign Of The Worm" still rumbles with menace, "Free Men" still makes you want to ride into the desert, and "Spice Opera" still opens with those otherworldly vocals that defined an entire generation's idea of what Arrakis sounds like.
Essential for anyone who played the original and indispensable for anyone discovering it fresh.
