This 2006 Japanese dungeon crawler has the kind of soundtrack that perfectly captures the mid-2000s PC RPG scene in Japan. The track naming convention alone is fantastic -- each title pairs an evocative English name with its in-game location in these elegant Japanese brackets.

"Jungle juice ~Nina's BAR~" is a standout mood piece, bringing smoky jazz vibes to what's otherwise a pretty standard fantasy setting, and "Acropolis ~Rouleburg~" delivers a stately town theme that makes you want to wander around shopping for equipment.
The dungeon tracks form a great escalating arc. "In the dark ~Dungeon~" starts with restrained tension, "Abyss ~Deep dungeon~" cranks the dread up significantly, and by the time you hit "Gehenna ~Last dungeon~" you're in full apocalyptic territory.
The battle themes follow suit -- "Swordplay ~Battle~" keeps things energetic for random encounters, while "Dice with death ~Boss battle~" and "Jehad ~Final battle~" bring progressively more intense arrangements that match the stakes.
The character and story themes round things out nicely. "Blaze of glory ~Knights of Oltina~" and its darker counterpart "Shadow of evil ~Knights of Oltina-2~" tell a faction's story through music alone, and the trio of "Usual" themes ("A sunny place," "Before twilight," and "Night cruise") capture everyday life with genuine warmth.
It's a thorough, well-structured OST that deserves more attention than its obscure origin would suggest.
