Thick, foreboding synths that feel like they're crawling out of a portable speaker. Elminage Gothic on 3DS and PSP is a dungeon crawler that sounds like it wants you dead. "Deep Dark Cavern" is all suffocating reverb and low drones, exactly what you'd expect from a game called Gothic.

Then "Creeping Fear" does this slow build that genuinely makes you uneasy. "Lured to a Slow Death" might be the most honest track title in RPG history. The whole soundtrack leans hard into this oppressive church-organ-meets-synth thing that fits the PSP sound chip era perfectly.
But then "No Despair Here" breaks through with something almost hopeful. Almost. If you want background music for your next late night dungeon grind, this one delivers.
