Chunky Game Boy bleeps doing things that tiny sound chip has no business pulling off. Embers of Mana is a 2026 Game Boy title and the chiptune work here is seriously impressive. "Creche de Chocobo" is a dead giveaway for the Mana series DNA, all bouncy and warm within those hardware limits.

"Dark Caves" squeezes genuine menace out of two pulse channels and a wave table. "A Curious Celebration" is pure 8-bit joy. The kind of track that makes you bob your head even through the crunchiest speaker. "Frozen Statues" goes quiet and eerie in a way that shows real restraint.
The full 31-track list is wild for a Game Boy release. "Monarch in the Dark" especially... If you love what composers can do when the hardware fights back, this one is worth every beep.
