Raw X68000 internal sound source doing heavy lifting with tight FM synthesis. FZ Senki Axis got these remastered soundtracks in 2007, pulling from the original X68000 release and running everything through the internal chip.

"Next War" kicks in with militaristic urgency and a slightly different texture from the remaster treatment. "Danger Zone" retains its driving intensity. "Trouble Maker" and "Try Your Luck" bring contrasting energies, one aggressive, the other more calculated.

Every track is labeled "Internal Sound Source Version" meaning pure hardware. No MIDI expansion boards, just the base machine doing its thing. "I'm Down" has this defeated quality that hits different after all the battle tracks before it.

For anyone curious what X68000 games sounded like straight out of the box with no upgrades, this is your answer.
