Retro chip sounds evolving in real time into modern synth. GENETOS is a Windows shmup where the gameplay literally evolves through shooter history, and the soundtrack follows. "Little Invader" starts in bare-bones Space Invaders territory, "Blue Sky" breaks into something bright and modern, and "Dawn of a new Era" feels like the genre growing up in front of you.

The Japanese subtitles on every track tell a parallel story. "進化する惑星" (evolving planet), "受け継がれた世界" (an inherited world). There is narrative baked into the music itself. "Origin" and "Answer" hit different when you realize the whole album has been building toward them.
Then "Rebirth" closes the loop. If you have ever wanted to hear the entire history of shmup music compressed into one soundtrack, this is literally that.
