Upbeat J-pop energy crashing into battle rock. Genkai Tokki Castle Panzers is a 2017 Compile Heart game and this limited edition bonus disc goes hard on variety. "サンバ・デ・ソダテイロ" is a samba number that has no business being this fun, "Ready to battle" flips the switch into aggressive territory, and "ビンカン!
おしおき! MAX HEART" is the kind of hyper-cute track that lodges itself in your brain permanently. The emotional range is wild. "君との夜明け" pulls things into soft, sincere territory while "Libido & Destrudo" goes somewhere dark and heavy.
Then there are numbered bonus tracks rounding out the back half. Compile Heart doing their whole thing. Unfiltered. If you need proof that niche Japanese game soundtracks go places mainstream ones will not, start here.
