This is the version that made people sit at the title screen just to listen. "Light Velocity Ver.II" and "Endless Journey Ver.I" carry over the series' tradition of smooth jazz-fusion instrumentals that pair perfectly with late-night endurance races.
"Vette Lug" has this heavy, grinding riff that fits the Corvette-era American muscle feel. "Green Monster" goes full throttle with a driving rock energy, while "Hypnosis" dials things back into this trancelike groove. "An Old Bassman" is a slick, bass-driven jazz track that has no right being this smooth in a racing game.
The variety here is the real achievement. "Kiss You Good-bye" is a proper vocal ballad, "Soul Surfer" brings chill vibes, and "Break Down" goes harder. Twenty-two tracks that feel like a curated mixtape for someone who spends weekends at both jazz clubs and racetracks.
