Soft, atmospheric visual novel tones that creep under your skin. This 2005 twin wave release bundles soundtracks from Joyuu Nanako and Mofukuzuma, two Japanese visual novels with very different emotional temperatures. "fee-mail" opens with a deceptively gentle melody before tracks like "危機" and "悪夢" pull you into darker territory.
The character themes give each person their own musical identity, which is such a VN move. "光のさす方へ" has this fragile hopefulness that contrasts hard with "魍魎" and its unsettling atmosphere. The arranged versions and karaoke cuts round it out.
Getting both soundtracks together, the contrast between warmth and dread just. For anyone into Japanese VN music that actually builds tension instead of just sitting pretty.
