Warm keyboard melodies and gentle guitar that sound like walking home from school in golden afternoon light. Kakyuusei 2 is a 2004 dating sim, and this soundtrack is packed with character themes that each carve out their own personality.
"Tamaki" and "Nanase" have this sweet, approachable pop feel, "Pathos" goes emotionally heavy, and "Fight Club" suddenly shows up with unexpected intensity. The slice-of-life tracks are where it shines. "Strawberry Fields," "Poolside," "School Life" all paint scenes you can practically walk through.
Then "Christmas" and "New Year" mark time passing in that way dating sims do so well. "Romance" into "A Touch Between Us" into "Honeymoon" tells its own little story. If you want a soundtrack that feels like an entire year of high school compressed into one playlist, this delivers.
