Eerie atmospheric loops and tense investigation cues that feel like a 2001 mystery visual novel should. KONOHANA: TrueReport is exactly that, and the soundtrack nails the slow-burn suspense. "Forest of Illusion" opens with this unsettling ambient wash, "step of terror" does exactly what the name promises with creeping low-end dread, and "Found Dead" is the grim punctuation at the end of every bad lead.
Then there's the lighter side. "funny ha-ha!" breaks tension with something almost goofy, and "Quietly, the Two of Us" pulls into genuine warmth. The contrast makes the dark tracks darker. The collection includes two versions of most tracks, probably original and arranged.
"Heat Haze" appears in ver. A, ver. B, and a clean version. Three shades of the same haze. If you dig mystery VN soundtracks that know how to make silence feel dangerous, this one gets it.
