Dark, moody synths with a 1991 edge. Kujakuou 3 ~Sakurabana Houjou~ drops you into occult-horror territory right from the intro "Yomi no Tobira," which sounds like a gate to the underworld cracking open. The main theme "Heroings" has this heroic but eerie melodic push that sets up the whole tone.
"Meltdown" does exactly what the name promises. Heavy, anxious, synth-driven chaos that sounds like late-era Famicom or PC Engine hardware being pushed to its limit. There is also "Yomi no Gymnopedie," which reimagines Satie through a horror filter.
