Kyoushitsu Series Memorial CD Original Soundtrack

2003 · Windows

Quiet, creeping PC synth that shifts between serene and deeply unsettling without warning. The Kyoushitsu Series memorial soundtrack collects music across three early 2000s Windows visual novels, and the tonal range is wild.

Angelic floats in with something genuinely peaceful. Then Sadistic Rhythm shows up and the mood snaps into something sharp and wrong. Peace and Blessing from Ikenie no Kyoushitsu carry this fragile calm that feels like it could break any second.

VARIOUS PLANTS AND FLOWERS IN THE GARDENS has an oddly pastoral quality that works as unsettling contrast. Fury closes the Shokuzai section with raw intensity. The arranged versions of Affection show how much mileage these melodies have when rebuilt from scratch.

For anyone who appreciates VN soundtracks that know how to make silence feel loud.
