Pure 1996 Saturn sound running through a tactical RPG with serious character theme commitment. Langrisser III gave every major player their own track, and through the Saturn's hardware it all has this slightly grainy, warm quality.

"Main Theme (Hero's Theme)" sets the tone immediately, big and determined without being overblown. "Luna's Theme" and "Flaire's Theme" are both gorgeous in totally different ways. The Velzeria and Imperial faction themes do a great job making you feel the political weight of each side.
There's something about mid-90s Saturn audio that just hits a sweet spot between synth and early CD quality. Not quite orchestral, not quite chiptune, just its own thing. For anyone who thinks the Saturn got overlooked as a platform for great game music, exhibit A.
