"ハチロクのテーマ" (Hachiroku's Theme) is this sweet, wistful melody that sticks in your head for days. "心の雫" (Heart's Dewdrop) has a tenderness to it that just wrecks you quietly. The piano solo and violin sonata arrangements show how much range these compositions have when stripped down or rebuilt.
"交響詩ものべの" (Symphonic Poem Monobeno) across three parts goes full orchestral and it works beautifully. You get shrine maiden folk pieces sitting next to late night jazz-tinged tracks. The tonal shifts match the storytelling.
If you have any love for VN soundtracks, this collection is an overwhelming gift.
