The PS1 remake that introduced a whole new generation to Lunar, and this soundtrack is the reason half of them stayed. "Wings" opens the game with that animated intro and immediately sets the bar impossibly high. It's one of the most recognizable opening songs in JRPG history, and hearing it still triggers something in anyone who played this in 1999.

"Wind Nocturne" is the boat song. If you know, you know. Luna singing on that ship is one of those gaming moments that transcends the medium, and the track stands on its own as a genuinely beautiful vocal piece. "Burg" captures small-town innocence, "Meribia" explodes into bustling port city energy, and "Vile Tribe" drops the temperature with menace.
The Sega CD tracks included here, like "Boss Battle" and "The Four Heroes," are a nice nod to the original. "Magical Weapon Nash" is still hilarious. "Determination" and "Reach for the Front" carry the heroic momentum. "Mourning Bell" and "Betrayal" handle the emotional gut punches with restraint.
And "Go Go Go!" has this infectious energy that makes grinding feel fun. The definitive version of one of the most beloved JRPG soundtracks ever made.
