The game is apparently nothing but towers, each with its own musical identity. "Tower of Evil Kimonos" and "Upsidedown Tower" capture Guru Guru's trademark absurdist humor — this is a series that parodies RPG conventions while genuinely being one.
"LET'S Guru Guru" brings the opening energy. "Alcohol Is Good!" is a track title that would only appear in a 90s comedy anime game. "How About Some More Tea" is aggressively hospitable. "Dance of Swords" and "Fierce Battle" handle the combat with appropriate drama.
"Hell's Messenger" and "Shout From the World of Spirits" go darker than expected for a comedy. "Optimistic" and "Reception for the Hero's Party" maintain the cheerful RPG framework. "One Who Hinders Our Sleep.." closes with ominous trailing dots.
Twenty-nine tracks of SNES comedy-RPG gold.
