A compact romance visual novel soundtrack from 2005 that does exactly what it needs to do and not a note more. The structure tells the whole story: character themes for Honoka, Yukine, Honami, Suzuka, Rin, and Makiko, each carving out their own emotional space, followed by situational themes that trace the arc of a relationship from first date to heartbreak.
"absurd" bookends the album in both long and short versions, and there's something satisfying about hearing a vocal track frame the entire emotional journey. "Magnet of Love" does the same, pulling double duty as both opening statement and closing reflection.
The character themes sit in the middle like portraits in a gallery. "Theme Passing Each Other" and "Theme And Then..." are the gut-punch tracks, the ones that show up when things aren't going well. Paired against "Theme Excitement" and "Theme Date," you get this clean emotional map of what falling in love and potentially losing it actually feels like.
Eighteen tracks, zero waste.
