The soundtrack mirrors that tonal whiplash perfectly, transitioning from slice-of-life comfort into genuinely dramatic orchestral territory. "Promise ~Memory of a Moonlit Night~" opens with romantic gravity, and the character themes each carve out distinct space: Sheila, Neith, Yukina, To-ko, and Kanade all get personal musical identities.
The mid-album pivot is where things get interesting, as "Castle" and "Peaceful Castle Town" shift the setting entirely, and "Invasion" through "Battle" escalate into full confrontation. "Ball Dance" is a welcome breather with elegant waltz-time phrasing.
The emotional back half hits hard with "Sadness," "Painful Feelings," and "True Loneliness" forming a trilogy of heartbreak before "Grand Finale" and "Sweet Moment" bring resolution. It's a surprisingly ambitious score for a 2009 Windows visual novel, and the Norse mythology thread gives it an identity most games in the genre never reach for.
