Bundled with the PS Vita port of Disgaea 3, this mini soundtrack is a tight five-track sampler that hits the highlights of Tenpei Sato's score for the Evil Academy saga. "Our Eternity" is a gorgeous vocal piece that captures the surprisingly heartfelt core beneath all the over-the-top demon school hijinks -- it's the kind of track that sneaks up on you emotionally when you're not expecting it from a game about a demon who refuses to leave his room.

"Black Lady" brings sultry menace that fits the game's femme fatale characters perfectly. "Extreme Outlaw King" is the standout battle theme here, packing that unmistakable Disgaea swagger -- driving guitars and a sense of theatrical bombast that makes grinding through the Item World feel like an event rather than a chore.
"Ivory Touch" offers a moment of piano-driven calm, a beautiful contrast piece that reminds you Sato is equally comfortable with delicate compositions as he is with high-energy battle anthems. At only five tracks, this is obviously just a taste of what the full Disgaea 3 soundtrack offers, but the selection is well-curated.
"A Song For You" closes things out as a heartfelt sendoff that encapsulates the game's themes of friendship and rebellion. For Vita owners who picked up the Return edition, this was a welcome pack-in bonus that justified the double-dip for series devotees.
