A music-themed visual novel gets the kind of soundtrack it deserves: warm, gentle, and full of summertime longing. Mamiya-kunchi no Ongaku Jijou's 2016 OST weaves character themes and slice-of-life BGMs together into something that feels like sitting on a porch in August.
"夏の朝" (Summer Morning) and "海からの便り" (Letter from the Sea) set an idyllic coastal mood, while each heroine gets her own distinct musical identity: "八雲のテーマ" through "莉里香のテーマ" give the five girls recognizable personalities through melody alone.
"Blue Monday" and "Gentle On My Mind" add unexpected Western pop-inflected touches to the mix. The emotional range runs from the giddy "えへへ" (Ehehe) and the frantic "すみません｡ 今バタバタしてまして......" to the tender "ずっとこうして" (Stay Like This Forever).
