This is one of those beautiful internet rabbit holes. The "Piracy Is No Party!" phenomenon came out of the creepypasta-adjacent trend of imagining what anti-piracy screens in Nintendo games would look and sound like. "Piracy Is No Party!" itself has that eerie, distorted quality that makes fake anti-piracy content so compelling, like familiar Nintendo cheerfulness curdled into something threatening. "Anti-Piracy Self-Reporter" leans further into the creepy, and then "Host Hoedown" pivots into something unexpectedly funky before the "Finale Mix" closes things out.
It's a tiny four-track set born entirely from internet culture and the collective anxiety of every kid who ever worried their R4 card would get them in trouble. Not official Nintendo in any way, but the creativity and commitment to the bit is real.
A fascinating artifact of fan-made game music culture.
